# List supported blockchain networks

> Get every blockchain DexPaprika indexes, with 24h DEX volume, transactions and active pools per chain, in one API call. Works without an API key.

`GET /networks` returns every blockchain DexPaprika indexes in one response, with the chain's 24h DEX volume, transaction count and number of active pools. The `id` of each network is the value every other endpoint takes as `{network}`. No key is needed:

```bash theme={null}
curl -s "https://api.dexpaprika.com/networks" | jq '.[] | select(.id == "ethereum")'
```

```json theme={null}
{
  "display_name": "Ethereum",
  "id": "ethereum",
  "volume_usd_24h": 1558970336.9760473,
  "txns_24h": 396564,
  "pools_count": 9718
}
```

The whole list arrives at once, there is no paging. This page covers that call, the matching [`GET /stats`](/api-reference/utils/retrieve-high-level-asset-statistics) totals, and a short script that ranks chains by activity.

## Which plan you need

Both endpoints work on every plan, with the same data. A key changes the limits and the host, not the response.

| Caller | Host | Header |
| - | - | - |
| No key | `api.dexpaprika.com` | none |
| Free key | `api.dexpaprika.com` | `Authorization: <your key>` |
| Dev, Pro, Enterprise | `api-pro.dexpaprika.com` | `Authorization: <your key>` |

The key goes in `Authorization` on its own. Get one in [console.dexpaprika.com](https://console.dexpaprika.com) and compare limits on [pricing](https://dexpaprika.com/api/pricing).

<CodeGroup>
  ```bash No key theme={null}
  curl -s "https://api.dexpaprika.com/networks" | jq 'length'
  ```

  ```bash Dev or Pro key theme={null}
  curl -s -H "Authorization: $DEXPAPRIKA_API_KEY" \
    "https://api-pro.dexpaprika.com/networks" | jq 'length'
  ```
</CodeGroup>

## What each network carries

| Field | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `id` | The network id to pass as `{network}` in every other path, for example `ethereum`, `solana`, `bsc` |
| `display_name` | Human-readable name for your UI |
| `volume_usd_24h` | DEX trading volume on the chain over the last 24 hours, in USD |
| `txns_24h` | Swaps on the chain over the last 24 hours |
| `pools_count` | Pools with recent trading activity on the chain |

Use `id` in code and `display_name` on screen. Ids are lowercase slugs and do not always match the chain's marketing name, so look them up here rather than guessing: Binance Smart Chain is `bsc`.

## Coverage totals with /stats

`GET /stats` returns four totals for the whole database:

```bash theme={null}
curl -s "https://api.dexpaprika.com/stats"
```

```json theme={null}
{"chains": 36, "factories": 244, "pools": 43737979, "tokens": 39695382}
```

`pools` here counts every pool ever indexed, while `pools_count` on `/networks` counts the pools on a chain with recent activity. Both are correct, they answer different questions, so do not add up `pools_count` and expect the `/stats` figure.

## Rank chains by activity in Python

`/networks` comes back in no particular order. This script sorts it by 24h volume and prints the five busiest chains, two requests in total:

```python theme={null}
import os
import requests
# No key: leave both variables unset. Free key: set DEXPAPRIKA_API_KEY.
# Dev or Pro key: also set DEXPAPRIKA_API=https://api-pro.dexpaprika.com
API = os.environ.get("DEXPAPRIKA_API", "https://api.dexpaprika.com")
KEY = os.environ.get("DEXPAPRIKA_API_KEY")
HEADERS = {"Authorization": KEY} if KEY else {}
def get(path):
    r = requests.get(f"{API}{path}", headers=HEADERS, timeout=30)
    r.raise_for_status()
    return r.json()
networks = get("/networks")
stats = get("/stats")
print(f"{len(networks)} networks, {stats['pools']:,} pools in the database")
print(f"{'network':<12}{'24h volume (USD)':>20}{'24h swaps':>12}{'active pools':>14}")
for n in sorted(networks, key=lambda n: n["volume_usd_24h"], reverse=True)[:5]:
    print(f"{n['id']:<12}{n['volume_usd_24h']:>20,.0f}{n['txns_24h']:>12,}{n['pools_count']:>14,}")
```

```text theme={null}
36 networks, 43,739,236 pools in the database
network         24h volume (USD)   24h swaps  active pools
solana             2,542,236,728  24,488,503        94,013
ethereum           1,558,970,337     396,564         9,718
bsc                1,171,743,743   3,718,095        22,393
base                 927,396,344   1,587,603        14,815
robinhood            693,359,323   1,668,783        14,559
```

Output from 12 October 2026. Your numbers will differ.

## Things to know

**Sort it yourself.** The order of `/networks` is not by name or by volume, and it can change between calls.

**Cache it.** The list changes when a chain is added or retired, which is rare. Responses carry `cache-control: max-age=60`, and fetching it once per process start is plenty. Every call costs one credit, see [credit usage](/knowledge-base/credit-usage).

**Volume is DEX volume only.** `volume_usd_24h` sums swaps on the DEXes DexPaprika indexes on that chain. It is not the chain's total on-chain value transferred.
